Oman: Hormuz Talks in Salalah Postponed
Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced that the Gulf countries-Iran Hormuz talks planned for Monday in Oman's Salalah were postponed "in order to reach consensus", stating that Oman's commitment to strengthening dialogue that supports stability and lasting cooperation in the region continues. Iranian Foreign Ministry Director General for the Persian Gulf Department Mohammad Alibek confirmed that the postponement was a joint decision by Iran and Oman, made at the request of some regional countries; Bahrain's earlier announcement that it would not attend and Saudi Arabia's reservations about the proposal were decisive. No new date has been announced yet.
