CBRT Keeps Policy Rate Constant at %37
CBRT Monetary Policy Committee kept the policy rate (one-week repo auction rate) constant at %37 in its decision announced on Thursday at 14.00; while the decision matched the expectations of 24 out of 25 economists participating in the AA Finans survey, only 1 economist had predicted a 100 basis point cut. The overnight lending rate was maintained at %40, and the overnight borrowing rate at %35,5. The CBRT had also left the policy rate constant at %37 at its last meeting in July.
Dollar/TL and Euro/TL Renew Historic Peaks
Dollar/TL renewed its historic peak once again following the CBRT decision, rising to the 48,49-48,51 TL band; while buying was recorded as 48,4885 TL and selling as 48,5007 TL in official exchange rates, the selling price in the free market reached 48,51 TL. Euro/TL also renewed its own record, rising to the 56,57-56,58 TL band; trading at 56,5617 TL buying and 56,5848 TL selling.
Gram Gold Closes the Day Higher: 6.903 TL
Trading at 6.875,78 TL in the morning hours, gram gold rose to the 6.897-6.903 TL band during the day and completed the day with a %0,56 increase; while in international markets ounce gold (XAU/USD) hovered at 4.407,66 dollars.
BIST 100 Starts the Day Higher: 14.550,67 Points
The BIST 100 index, after completing the previous day (Wednesday, 9 September) up %0,70 at 14.505,48 points, started Thursday with a %0,31 rise at 14.550,67 points.
