CENTCOM: 92 Commercial Vessels Redirected in Hormuz Blockade
United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a post on its official X account on Sunday that US forces have so far redirected 92 commercial vessels, disabled 3, and boarded 2 in the Strait of Hormuz to enforce the naval blockade against Iran. The post also featured footage of a US Air Force F-35A fighter jet patrolling regional waters; the figure indicates that the scope of the blockade continues to expand compared to the notifications of 62 and 82 vessels announced in previous weeks.
OPEC+ Kept October Production Policy Unchanged
Eight countries affiliated with OPEC+ decided not to change the October production policy at their meeting on Sunday; thus, for the first time following consecutive monthly production increases, a pause was experienced. The decision coincided with a period when the Iran conflict continues to disrupt oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, limiting the group's ability to influence global prices and market share through supply decisions. The total required production of the eight countries for October was set at approximately 31.01 million barrels per day, while the group's next meeting will be held on October 4, 2026.
