Transparency first: FXPARTNER is a business partner of both XM and LiteFinance and earns commission revenue from both. So we cannot claim that our answer to the question "which one is better" is commercially neutral — instead, what we can do is place the differences between the two side by side without hiding anything so that you can make the decision.
The good news is that these two brokers have genuinely different profiles. If they were two interchangeable options, the comparison would be meaningless; they are not, and the difference relies on the choice between how much protection you want and how much cost reduction you seek.
Regulation: the biggest difference is here
XM holds four licenses, including ASIC (Australia), CySEC (Cyprus), and DFSA (Dubai); three of these are Tier-1 authorities. Tier-1 licenses require customer funds to be segregated from company funds, a minimum capital reserve, and in some countries, a compensation scheme that kicks in if the broker goes bankrupt.
The LiteFinance group also has a CySEC-licensed European company — Liteforex (Europe) Ltd, license no 093/08 — but this company only serves European Economic Area clients. Accounts opened from Turkey are connected not to this company, but to the offshore entity: LiteFinance Investment Limited (Mauritius FSC, license no GB20025921) or LiteFinance Global LLC (Saint Vincent, registration no 931 LLC 2021 — this is a company registration, not a regulatory license).
Practical result: for an investor opening an account from Turkey, XM's regulatory protection is significantly stronger. On the LiteFinance side, the Mauritius FSC is a real layer of oversight, but it is not at the Tier-1 level and does not have an investor compensation fund behind it. Neither broker is SPK-licensed; this applies to all international brokers serving Turkey.
Cost: the difference grows with volume
On the cost side, the direction reverses. The commission difference between raw spread accounts of the two brokers can change the price of the same transaction up to three times.
- –XM Standard/Micro: spread from 1.0 pip, no commission, minimum deposit $5. Cost of 1 lot EUR/USD is approximately $10.
- –XM Zero: spread from 0.0 pips, commission $3.50 per lot per side, minimum deposit $100. Cost of 1 lot is approximately $10 ($3 spread + $7 commission).
- –LiteFinance Classic: spread from 1.8 pips, no commission, minimum deposit $50. Cost of 1 lot is approximately $18.
- –LiteFinance ECN: spread from 0.0 pips, commission from $0.25 per lot, minimum deposit $50. Cost of 1 lot is approximately $3.25-$3.50.
- –LiteFinance Cent: spread from 3 pips, no commission, minimum deposit $10 — an account that should be evaluated as a learning tool, not in terms of cost.
Platform and product
XM operates via MT4, MT5 and its own XM App. The educational side is one of the strongest in the industry: daily live webinars in 23 languages, an extensive video library, and a loyalty program.
LiteFinance offers four platforms — MT4, MT5, cTrader and its own WebTerminal running from the browser. cTrader support is a distinguishing feature: due to Level II pricing and native algorithmic trading infrastructure, it is the platform preferred by ECN-focused traders and those using automation, and is not available at XM.
LiteFinance's second distinguishing product is its own social trading (copytrade) platform: you can copy another trader's trades or open your own trades to being copied and earn a commission from profits. Funds remain in your own account and copying can be stopped at any time; the recommended starting amount for copying is 50 dollars.
Withdrawal
Both brokers have strong withdrawal profiles, but their mechanics differ.
At XM, most withdrawal requests are processed within 24 hours; e-wallet withdrawals usually take the same day, while card and bank withdrawals take 2-5 business days. XM charges no withdrawal fees.
At LiteFinance, requests are processed instantly when automatic withdrawal flow is enabled on a verified account — up to 5,000 dollars per day, without waiting for manual approval. On the other hand, there are two limitations: money can only be withdrawn to the deposit method and in the same currency, and a fee of 0-2% may apply depending on the method.
In summary, LiteFinance is faster, XM has lower friction. Instant withdrawal is an important signal, but it does not replace regulatory protection — the two issues are independent of each other.
FXPARTNER Index and scores
Each broker is scored on four axes: Regulation, Cost, Platform, and Withdrawal. XM's composite index is 9.5, while LiteFinance's is 9.1. The difference comes almost entirely from the regulation axis — while XM gets 5/5 with three Tier-1 licenses, LiteFinance remains at 3/5 because accounts opened from Turkey are linked to an offshore entity.
Both are close to full scores on the cost and withdrawal axes; on the platform axis, LiteFinance leads with its four platforms. You can see the full breakdown of scores and the rationale for each axis on the review pages of both brokers.
Decision tree: which one fits your profile?
- –If your priority is regulatory protection and fund safety → XM. Three Tier-1 licenses are the only true point of differentiation in this comparison and cannot be compensated for.
- –If you trade over 20 lots a month and cost is your main item → LiteFinance ECN. The difference per lot reaches an amount comparable to your account size in the annual total.
- –If you use cTrader or algorithmic trading → LiteFinance. XM does not support cTrader.
- –If you want to learn with real money with an amount between 10-50 dollars → LiteFinance Cent account. XM's minimum deposit is lower ($5) but it does not have a cent account.
- –If you are looking for educational content, webinars, and guidance → XM. It has one of the industry's strongest libraries in this field.
- –If you want to copy someone else's trades or have your own trades copied → LiteFinance social trading platform.
- –If you are undecided → using both is a common and reasonable solution: keeping long-term capital on the more strongly regulated side, and conducting cost-sensitive active trading on the other. You have no obligation to consolidate capital in a single broker.
Final note
We do not declare a winner in this comparison because the honest answer depends on the profile. For someone who prioritizes regulation, XM is by far the right choice; for an active trader prioritizing cost, it is impossible to find the numbers offered by LiteFinance ECN at XM.
Whichever you choose, verify two things for yourself before deciding: which legal entity the account is opened with and the current spread/commission figures for that account type. This content is for general informational purposes only and is not investment advice; leveraged transactions involve high risk and you may lose all of your capital.
